Painting a Ceiling
I have a large ceiling area to paint.Put one coat on and patchy or missed areas. How do I get a good uniform coat? and with what equipment? Its medium artex.

No pictures so I'll guess it just needs a second coat.
DO the cutting in first (hand painting the edges) then use a 1/2 nap roller.
No clue what artex is.

Artex I believe is what is called a "popcorn" texture, right?
You need a 1/2 roller, and use plenty of paint. THe biggest mistake most HO have is being too stingy with the material.
Roll 90 deg. from direction as last time. You are using an extension pole, right?

You're using flat paint I presume. I would use no less than a 3/4" nap cover. Depending on the roughness of the popcorn and ceiling sq ft I might use up to 1-1/4".
The larger naps help you be more liberal in paint application. Brushjockey is right about not being stingy.
