Painting cabinet doors

As I've mentioned in my other posts, I'm new to DIY projects so please excuse my stupidity!

I work in the kitchen of a family bar/restaurant where things can be a bit greasy. We have some cabinet doors in which the paint is quite gross looking, having collected grease from well over the past decade. I am looking to take the doors down, remove the paint, and re-sand the doors.

But from there I am not sure what to do. Do I seal it with something first before I paint? If so, what...and how long do I wait until painting can begin? And what products work best in a greasy environ? Or does that not matter so much so long as I clean them?

Attached is a picture of the door...gross indeed!

You said remove the paint, which would also remove the grease, so normal procedure from there. But that may be overkill if you plan to repaint.

What you need to do is remove the grease really well.

Krud Kutter is good, Soilex powder is good. Clean , and then clean again.

Sand to give a place for a quality primer to get a grip.

Use said primer, in this case an oil like Cover stain would be a good choice.
lightly sand that after dry and finish with 2x quality hard trim paint.
