I just had masonite beadboard wainscoting installed. What is the best way to paint it? I was going to use a roller, but should I get a thicker knap to get into the grooves? Do I need to go back over each groove with a paintbrush too? I'm going to use Valspar flat ultra white paint. Also, what should I use to fill the nail holes? Regular old paintable nail filler?
The beadboard paneling would look better IMO brushed.I have done it with a roller and it looks ok but even rolling it out as smooth as possible it still has a little texture from the roller. As for your choice of a flat paint,I would reconsider.A satin or a semi-gloss would be my choice and the nail holes can be filled with Elmer's wood filler or spackling.
