Hi, we are putting a bathroom in the basement and was wanting some paint recommendations. We have installed a fan that is vented to the outside, and the shower will probably only be used when guests are staying with us, so not an everyday use. I am planning on buying a Sherwin Williams brand paint, and I went in the other day to pick up color swatches and asked about the Kitchen and Bath paint and was told they no longer sell it.
I have read about possibly using an enamel in a bathroom, so would the proclassic be a good choice, or go with duration?
We were planning on putting up mold resistant drywall, is SW's new drywall primer the one to use or something different?
And what paint should we use for the ceiling?
As a Sherwin Williams user, I can say that my reps have told me that Superpaint (and any premium line...Duration...) performs well in a bathroom. Latex paints are averse to mold anyway. If you have a fan, I wouldn't worry too much. A million times more important is to have the bathroom wet areas designed well, and no leaks.
