painting!
Hello, I am painting my living room and dining room with dark paint, haitian flower its a bit lighter than cranberry splash. I also included some classic taupe for the ceilings and 1 wall. The wall with the taupe will include a sponging effect. I chose a sleath black for all the triming, so I have really big windows and light hard wood floors. My mom says its too dark and it look depressing I haven't seen it yet! What should I do to bring the best out of this situation?!

Use lighter colors at least on the ceiling.

Add light carpet or extra light fixtures.

I will add extra light fixtures, but I am thinking about changing the color of the trim that I painted black. I guess im going to have to wait until its all done before I make that decision. I wanna post some pics but I don't know how. Thanks for your advise

I would not do the trim in black. Too dark and very difficult to change later. Go with white.

It is impossible to comment on your colors with any certainty without a some pictures, but I will say this -- give yourself some time to get used to the black trim before you do something drastic like paint it again. I have seen this time and time again - people hate their new colors even though they are the ones that chose them, but after the shock of the change passes, they start to remember what drew them to those colors in the first place, and start to like them again. Give yourself a few weeks at least.
