I have some high quality fabric verticle blinds that have no use to me unless I can change the color. I want to paint them with some wall paint I have. I painted a small sample piece and it looks fine but it is hard to cover and takes a lot of paint. Can I mix the paint with something to make it go on easier and cover more? Should I use something other than a brush? Any other comments?
I'm not an expert in window treatments, but the fact that they are fabric would lend to think you should dye them instead of trying to paint. Just my .02¢, hope it helps.
I would think that any wall paint would crack and chip off on any fabric once the fabric bent. Although I have paint all over my clothes and nothing will get it off...
You could try your local arts and crafts store, Most of them sell fabric paint in a variety of colors.
Have you priced replacement vanes? The vanes for your average slider cost about $200. Much of what you are tring to do depends upon the fabric, some will take a soaking and are dyable, others will not. IMHO painting will ruin them.
