Painters tape?

I bought the blue painters masking tape from lowes to mask off the floor when painting my cabinets. This stuff was horrible. When it came time to tear it off the floor, it tore in pieces and there were spots the paint got onto the floor, im guessing it bled through the tape..? Whats a good masking tape to use?

Painters tape?

I don't use a lot of masking tape, but, when I do, I use FrogTape.

Did you wait until the paint dried before removing? Do it when it's still wet and it comes right off.
Did you fold it back on it's self and slowly pull it at a slight angle?

Frog tape is better, or the 3M with edge block.
But whatever tape you use, whether paint bleeds through the edge or not has a lot to do with how you put the tape on. It helps to push the leading edge down firmly with a putty knife.

Lowe's now has it's own brand Blue Hawk and everything is blue. So my question is the same as Chris. I used to use the 3M blue tape in my hand masker, it didn't take long for this to get retry expensive. Now unless I'm going to leave it on I just use regular 3M 2020 masking tape.
