Painters Caulk vs. Something Else?

I have about 8 tubes of white DAP Painters Caulk from a different project. Works great for baseboard, trim, etc.

I am starting another project and wondering if this is the right stuff. I have to prepare 6 large, north-facing windows for white trim paint. I am filling in the tiny cracks between pieces of trim. Between casing and wall. Between casing and jam. Between jam and replacement window plastic, etc.

Can I use this? Or should I use a paintable caulk that is more specific to weathersealing?

I would because Dap is very prone to crack. Sherwin Williams and AllPro make good Caulk.

if it was the dap alex plus with some silicone in it, then it's ok - not the best out there but it does flex and hold up ok (not as good as the SW stuff). If it's their regular painters caulk - than yes, it is definitely prone to crack - I don't even like using that stuff for interior caulking.

GE Silicone XST. Its paintable within 30 minutes and 100% silicone so it won't crack.
