painted concrete carport

My husband and I made the mistake of painting our concrete carport. We started off with red and when that started peeling off we went to concrete grey. We thought we did it right, but the paint will not stay on and now it has about six coats of paint on it. It is still peeling off. What can we do to take the paint off and get it back to the natural concrete?

What type of paint are you applying? If it is standard porch and floor paint, it will not take hot tire traffic. It would have to be removed with a chemical paint stripper.

You're going to have to strip it chemically or mechanically. You have to get down to the concrete and start over with something that will bond and hold up to tires like an epoxy coating made specifically for garage floors.

Need more info........what type of paint was used on the carport before? An oil, a latex porch and floor, etc. Are you talking about the block walls of the carport or the actual concrete floor? Concrete is funny stuff.

painted concrete carport

I had a large "carpet" painted on my patio by a previous owner. Used a pressure washer and it readily removed it.
