Paint that won't dry?

I'm in Florida. (i.e. things tend to be a bit humid.)
Recently brush painted some vinyl covered bar stools with a gloss latex paint.
After more than a week they're still tacky to the touch and it seems like they may never dry.
Strip and start over, or is there another way?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

Run a fan on 'em or set them outside to bake a little in the sun. At least try that before doing anything drastic like stripping them and repainting.

Something isn't right tell use the whole process. Any thing you used should have dried by now even oil.

Also define tacky. What we think of a tacky paint may be different from your definition. Does the paint come off when you touch it or leave indentations of fingerprints? Acrylics take about 14 days to fully harden. Not sure what a vinyl covered barstool looks like, maybe a photo for us. One condition that will leave paint tacky is if the existing surface had body oils on it. That would keep the new paint from ever getting hard.
