paint thinner stains on vinyl siding.

Tried to get tar stains off siding from old roof taken off. Used paint thinner and I now have stains from paint thinner. Anyone got any ideas how to get rid of paint thinner stains? Looks terrible!

If your basic washing techniques don't work, it may be too far gone and need to be painted over

There are many, but in this case I'd try Simple Green, Top Job, or other relatively mild household cleaner (no abrasives like Soft Scrub or Bon Ami)

If you don't have anything around, then get a siding cleaner from the store

Mineral spirits are made with petroleum byproducts (oil). Without seeing the stains I would try a degreaser. Slickshift may be right about it being too far gone but something like 409 could work.

If the siding is chaulked, oxidized or faded, the stain won't wash out. A degreaser might lighten it up, and eventually it will blend a little more.

get a vinyl siding unlock tool and replace the bad sections of siding, if its not too old and the manufacturer still produces it then it won't be too costly to replace it.
