Glad to know someone else is trying this first......lol.
We got a STEAL of a deal on a house, but the siding is horrid and no matter what, painting will always be cheaper than siding the whole thing. The house has places where the wood has been patched and it has several different textures of siding on it. It is in the desert, southern cali. I have read about the roll-a-tex and even the guy at the paint store (Glidden) said he didn't see why it wouldn't work. The coarse type "says" it covers large cracks, yada yada. Please let me know how that turns out for you!! My husband is going to build me a hodge podge wall to see if my idea is going to work with the texture treatment.

I figured as long as the paint was AWESOME then it would be great if the texture additive does what it says. I have read through some of this forum and I still am not sure what brand of paint I would need to use. Any suggestions ?
