Question

Paint/Stain Trex

I have (25) 2 x 6 x 16' Trex boards that I am considering using as rafters on a Pergola. The Trex boards are 3 1/2 years old and somewhat faded/stained.

Is it possible/practical to paint/stain Trex to match the rest of the wood?

I'm still deciding on whether to use treated or Cedar for the rest of the Pergola. If I use treated wood, I'll eventually paint. For Cedar I'll stain it to match my cedar fence.

Paint/Stain Trex

** NEVER MIND ** After reading more posts about Trex I think it would be better to NOT re-user the Trex. I don't want to have to replace it in a few years. BTW the Trex I was going to use is coming from a deck that we are replacing with a raised paver patio.
