Paint for a semi-wet area...

I think at this point I am fairly commited to putting up plaster board with a couple coats of veneer plaster on it. (for my remodeled, now fully enclosed part of the house porch)

The only concern I have with the veneer plaster is that it says on the USG site that it is not as water / mositure resistant as traditional plaster.

The concern is that I am putting a hot tub / spa in this room. It is also our primary entrance from the garage and to the outside patio, which are both heavily trafficed. The room is above grade by about 7 inches, all proper construction. I am just concerned really about moisture that may be in the room from the hot tub, slight splashing, etc.

I was thinking about using a bathroom primar and paint, like the BM line.

How much water resistance can I get with a good paint? Are there any better choices for water resistance than the BM bath paint?

Should I think about using the zinsser bathroom primar first?

It's going to be a while before I paint this room, but I want to make sure I can make it some what water resistant before I start putting in this veneer system...

I think you have the right ideas. Get a good quality primer and bathroom paint. Ignore the statement on the bathroom paint that it self-primes. Nothing primes like primer.
