No, actually I would not use behr at all on that project.

Your options are in my opinion:

Prime with an adhesion promoting or stain blocking primer
Top coat with an acrylic egg-shell or satin interior paint

Sherwin Williams - Benny Moore - ICI are my recommended paint manufactures.

If you use behr you have a 90% chance of running into problems.

Correction, 100 percent chance of failure. No Behr's paint and primer in one is not designed to be applied directly to paneling. You need an adhesion primer, primer with extra grip to it. BTW, The paint and primer is a marketing gimic. Most interior paints are self priming on drywall.

gimic yes but i did experiment with some of the valspar interior and exterior paints. a friend of mine gives me various oops paints for free. anyway their prime/paint higher end stuff, duramax outdoor and signature indoor is just thicker. its easier to apply and seems to be a better product than the regular line. no idea why they market it as a prime/paint but the nuts and bolts of it is it just covers easier.

with the others on behr, its just bad paint
