Paint Over Skim Coat? Please Help
Anybody have any advice or experience on the following:
One room of our house had old wallpaper with lathe and plaster underneath. We wanted the wallpaper gone, but plaster was a bit crumbly, so we had a team come and put a bonding agent over the paper, then skim coat of mud over that.
Now the skim coat is even, sanded and completely dry. What are our options for the surface now? Venetian plaster is over our budget. Is it possible to put a tinted plaster over the skim coat? Or just prime and paint?
Thanks for your ideas!
Look at the new drywall primer thread a few down. About the same as what you have.
Many finishes could be done, depends on what your looking for.
Yes, Gardz primer and 2 finish coats
