Paint Master Bathroom

DO I paint my adjoining master bathroom the same color as the bedroom?

I think it's personal choice. If your color scheme in your bed and bath match, you can go with a contrasting color in the bathroom. You can give it a uniform look by keeping the trim the same color.

Our hall bathroom is done in the same color scheme as the hallway, but a shade darker. All the trim is white, so it ties together nicely without being the exact same color. Our bedroom is painted in sage green, but when we redo the bathroom I'll be painting it a dark taupe color - all with white trim.

Traditionally there should be some "flow" from the bedroom to the bath. Not necessarily the same color but something to tie them together. But, hey, its your house. Do whatever makes you happy. Paint is one of the easiest things to change.

FWIW, I think of this paint forum for more technical questions: what kind of primer to use etc. You may get more replies to your question if you ask this in the interior decorating forum.

maybe

in my opinion the bathroom and the bedroom should be viewed as different rooms, especially if there is a door that remains closed. The theme could be completely different, and the color could be bold or muted, whatever you desired, but since they are such small rooms bold colors should not encompass it all, accent walls and pops of the same color with rugs, curtains or towels are more appropriate. so yes it could be the same color as the bedroom, but why limit yourself when there is no nned to.

Accents are a great thing provided you have the nerve and guts to go for it. If it is a smaller bath room I would go 2-3 shades lighter of the same color in the larger Master Bed Room or if you have a large Bathroom you can afford to go a couple shades darker. Provided you have taller ceilings to work with.

I have painted ceilings in the same manner of 2-3 shades lighter or darker of the same family of color.

There is no wrong or right when its comes to your preference.
