Paint Exterior Foundation ?

Hello all,

I just finished parging the exterior foundation on my house.

1. Was wondering if I can paint the parge instead of just having the dull grey concrete look? Some sites say not to, others say it is ok.

2. What type of paint ... masonry?

3. And does anyone know what color I'd get if I liked the color the parge was when it was wet and first a darker grey...maybe sandstone?

Thanks...I want to either paint or not paint now...since I have the foundation all dug out.

You can do it. There is always a risk of peeling, but that's true of most masonry surfaces. But if you dont like the look, then by all means paint away. Just keep in mind that it wont last forever, may peel in the future, and you will have to repaint it eventually.
