Paint on a cornhole game

I'd like to paint a logo on a plain wood cornhole game that someone made for me. I also need to put something on it to protect the painted logo and make the wood surface a little more slick. Any suggestions on paint and poly or is this the wrong combination?

Paint on a cornhole game

Mostly played outdoors but stored indoors out of the elements.

Then ....fine sand it, paint your logo, and I'd probably brush on Polyurethane hi-gloss to finish it.
