Our house is dirty, so our neighbors suggested that we use their power washer to clean it. Bad idea.
It removed the paint from the siding, so I inadvertently graffitied our house. We took a rag and wiped across the siding to smooth the paint, and it seemed to do the trick. I then tried just a hose, and that also removed paint. It looks like ANY water on our siding causes the paint to run. As soon as it's wet, we can touch it with our fingers and they come away white. You can actually see areas where the siding is higher up and the brick is below it, and the paint has run onto the brick.
Most of the siding is aluminum, but there's one part that's vinyl. Both cause the paint to run, but it's not as obvious on the vinyl.
Sooo...
1) Does this mean that the siding is bad, or the paint is bad?
2) If the paint is bad, can we paint the existing siding, or do we have to redo that too?
3) How do I remove the paint runs off the brick?
4) How do I clean the siding? It's really dirty...
