paint bubbles

I am painting a very old house, probably built in 20's. It is used as a youth program house for a YMCA in our neighborhood. I am painting all the walls with Super Paint satin, two coats. After three days, I noticed a few spots which had bubbled in one room. I have seven rooms going right now. They looked like nail pops. The walls have been painted several times as you can imagine, and I'm not sure what was used previous to my involvement. So, what do I do to fix these bubbles? I read that moisture may cause them, but no other areas have them. I tried to search this topic, but I must be doing something wrong. I am sure this topic has come up before. Thanks in advance.

Re: paint bubbles

Bubbles can form for any number of reasons. Surface contamination, moisture gets trapped between coats of paint, dust on walls, it really could be just about anything. And, it's not out of the realm of possibility that cheap builder's paint may have been used previously.

Many times you can just wait the bubbles out. Don't mess with them for a day or so and they may go down and be fine. If not, you will have to scrape them off, do a little sanding, clean, apply some spackle (2 coats), sand again, prime those spots and touch-up or repaint.

Thanks Gymschu for the speedy reply. My wife told me I had a reply, and I said "I'll bet it's Gymschu." Just about every time I post a question, you are one of the first to reply. I appreciate that. I will wait it out. Then I will follow your suggestions as to repair. Have a good evening.
