Paint bubble in bathroom

We recently had a full bathroom remodel. We have a paint bubble now right beside the shower. When I was looking at it it popped and a creamy looking liquid came out.

First, what would cause this?
Second, what would the liquid have been?

Sounds like you have a possible water line leaking behind the drywall.

Call your contractor in to check it out. Since it's a recent remodel, you should still be covered by warranty. He will have the painter/drywallers come in and fix it at no cost to you. Of course, if MustangMike is correct and it's a plumbing issue, the contractor will have the plumbers come back to fix it. A pic would help.
