I'm going to apply a glaze over an already painted scene of clouds. It calls for an over glaze. My question is, mixing of 8 parts of water to 1 part white paint creates a glaze versus a clear glaze straight from the can, which one is better or does it matter? I have both. Thanks
Water will just thin the paint. Glaze is more or less "clear paint" which also extends the dry time, giving you more time to work with it before it dries. You should use glaze, it will make the paint more translucent, allowing the base color to show through. So the more galze you add, the more translucent the paint will be. Play with it some, start maybe 4 glaze to 1 paint.
