My painter wants to buy Pittsburgh paint - how does is compare to Sherwin Williams?

I personally prefer Sherwin Williams. If your asking about mildew resistant, premium 100% acrylic latex paints usually have mildicides in them. Any $old/mildew should be removed prior to painting.

I don't know how one would compare the two but Pittsburgh's top of the line is an excellent product. SW Duration is also a quality product. Me, I have never used either one.

Moreso than the brand, is the sheen of the paint- and national Brands have little do do with it anyway- mildewcides, like the members here posted all have them- its basic old tech. Nothing rocket science.

Again, sheen- satin finish will resist mold.algae way better than say, flat. Etc. Semi even better (but who wants semi outside on their house.....)

I did my house with Pittsburg. Every bit as good as SW.

I've never had any trouble with Pittsburgh Paints. Still like my SuperPaint made in Cleveland, Ohio!
