Outdoor latex painted Mural

To protect our Mural & to make it last longer outside could we polyurethane it? If so what type?

What is the paint used for the mural? Is it artist color? Perhaps the following articles will help.

If you want to try a wax coating, I can vouch for Renaissance. I have used it on indoor and outdoor art installations I have done for gallery clients and their customers. It is used extensively by museums and art restorers and preservationists.
