Order of operations?
I read a book on painting (which was recommended either here or on painttalk, was excellent, and now I can't remember the title--thoughts?) a while back which offered the tidbit "never cut in the same line twice", meaning that if you're painting a wall and trim one should underlap (did I just make that up?) the other slightly instead of precisely cutting in both edges.

My questions is what order to do things in?

Obviously I'll paint the ceiling first, if white ceiling paint touches the white primed walls that's clearly no problem.

Going by colors alone I'd then paint the trim letting it get onto the wall a little before painting the walls purple.

BUT since the trim is a different texture, would that show through the wall paint? Should I paint the wall first and hope that the white trim paint would cover some purple on the trim?

(Or is this all crap and I should just be precise with both?)

If there are any threads or youtube videos already on this feel free to point me in the right direction--no sense reinventing the wheel but the vbulletin search engine...leaves a smidge to be desired.

If any textured paint gets on the wall and not removed it will probably show through the wall paint. My preference would be to paint the trim last. It will be easier to to wipe any trim paint off the purple wall and retouch if necessary than to get the purple off the white trim. Just my thoughts. Good luck :)
