Open floorplan not open to change.

Our downstairs level is all one room (minus a small office tucked into the corner). It is currently serving several functions (kitchen, dining, breakfast area, living room, children's play area). I know that you cannot do different paint colors throughout one big space because it will look choppy, but what can I do to break things up. I had my heart set on seafoam green walls for the living room area, but that runs on one long wall through the dining room and kitchen. I don't want to have too much of a good thing, but I am sick of white on white on white. Any suggestions?

This is a GREAT time for BIG impact art. Buy a BIG blank canvas or two (like 8x8 or 8x6 or bigger) and paint it your desired color. Hang em up in your living room area and call it modern art.

You could pick a neutral soft color chart and paint the wall a medium color move up the chart 2 colors and paint the cieling that lighter color.
