Gave up on the skim coating project and had new drywall put up. Had a great taper do the mudding. Now I need to figure out a plan for painting bare drywall. Have read a lot about Gardz for the aborted skim coat everything project and have read some good things about using it on bare drywall. What do you think about Gardz for this application or am I better off with primer?

I've used Gardz and primers like Chris shows. Gardz is clear, seals wonderfully, but it is hard to see if any mud needs some touch up.
Pigmented primers have been the main choice for most- I would call using Gardz a special needs primer.
There are plenty of great drywall primers on the market but stay away from PVA primers.
