New Cypress Cabinets Prep Work

In some houses that have cypress cabinets, we are seeing yellow grain standing out with dark stain. Why is this, and how do we keep it from happening? Would you stay away from a medium color stain to prevent the color grain difference? Do you condition cypress, no matter the color of stain? Is it necessary to sand between each stain coat? Can you use an orbital sander to sand? Thanks to all that help and serve!

New Cypress Cabinets Prep Work

Cypress shouldn't be stained. Only finished with a clearcoat.
