Need advise for painting over drywall repair
I recently repaired some nail pops in my house and want to paint back over them. In my experience when you do this, you can always see where the repairs were made as the surface is not exactly the same (may be smoother) as the other parts of the wall. Is there a way to paint over this so you can't see the difference? What steps would I take.

I am using Sherwin Williams Cashmere paint. I was thinking of using 2 coats of Killz primer and then 2 coats of the Sherwin Williams paint again.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

you must use a primer first. The reason you still see the patches is the sheen is different unless sealed with the primer.

OP you have a good plan..:)

spot prime with Kiltz then cover all WITH Kiltz might be good enough before you paint. read the lable...2% CHANCE OF BLEED THRU.:(

I have done this enough to know they are accuarate in this percentile.

Two keys to success: 1) you have to be sure the pops are adequately filled and sanded, and 2) you have to spot prime the fills and paint the entire wall.
