Nail hole filler for finished trim work

I have installed new trim in my home and am looking for the BEST filler for all the nail holes. I primed and painted the trim before installing (sprayed it all) If I could, I would perfer NOT to have to re-paint the entire trim...any ideas out there???? Thanks for all your sugestions!

Paint is SW Pro-Classic white waterborne laxtex.

Caulk will shrink and spackle will tend to need 2-3 coats of paint to have a uniform finish. I would use Painters Putty in your situation as it can be mashed into the holes with your fingers. After a good setup time, I would just touch up the paint.

I tend to use caulking if I have the gun going anyhow to seal the space between the trim and the wall. Drywall compound works too. Just wipe of the excess with a light touch and a damp rag and touchup with paint. The finishing nail holes are so small you will not need much work.
