I think you have that backwards --- its counterclockwise (unless of course, its a full moon).

What all you stirring genius' forgot to mention is that while you're stirring, in a manner dependent upon your equatorial location, you should be pulling paint up from the bottom as you're circling. Not like stirring a cup of coffee.

was my paint shaken enough?

so last night, after dark, as I stood out in the yard with my paint can, neighbors asked what I was doing. I said, "I'm looking for the moon so I know how to stir my paint".

Then a truck drove up and men with straight jackets tried to grab me. But I beat them off with my paint stick.

Kidding aside. This is true. An old-timer taught me to stir paint in a figure 8 trying to pull up from the bottom as I did so. I am not sure if it really helps but I find I still do it that way.

How to open and use a can of paint.

1. Find can of paint buried on the shelf.
2. Spend 30 min trying to find the paint can opener. When you can't find it, use a screw driver messing up the lid.
3. With the lid off, clean up the paint spilled on the ground when you laid the lid down wrong
4. Time to have a beer.
5. Spend 45 trying to find the stir stick. End up using a branch from the tree.
6. Time for another beer.
7. Spend an hour trying to find a paint brush.
8. Beer empty, time for another one.
9. Stir the can of paint again. You found the stir sticks with the paint brush...and the missing beer you opened earlier.
10. Get our drop cloths and spread them on the ground. Knocked over beer...time for a fresh can.
11. Start painting....beer done.....time for another....
12. Fell off ladder due to too much beer....spilled paint....
13. Have another beer while you look at the mess you have to clean up.
