Mouldings / Kitchen Cabinets

I have two topics / questions actually. 1) I am getting ready to paint kitchen cabinets and am looking for a nice off-white color / paint. Any suggestions? 2) What is the best sheen for painting mouldings and doors - I am going with White in color.

There's got to be hundreds of so called "off whites" so your on your own on picking one.
Go to a real paint store like Sherwin Williams and tell them what your doing and they will set you up with the right products.
Your going to get 20 differant ansewers on here as to what product to use and what sheen to use. Everyone has there own comfort zone and uses what's worked for them.

I like to use an enamel paint on cabinets, doors and trim because it's a really tough paint and will hold up to scrubbing.
I also use nothing less then a semi gloss. The more gloss the easyer to clean.

Do a search here on painting cabs- been covered dozens of times.
Paint for cabs would be the same as for other trim- you want a hard washable finish. But prep is THE most important part. Doesn't matter how good the paint if you don't do that right.

did a cabinet job last month in s/w pro classic waterborne acrylic. the sheen level was satin .they came out beautiful :). with that said, i had recommended semi gloss, i think its a better choice for cabinets. if you do go s/w pro classic waterborne acrylic make sure your getting new stock,as they reformulated this about 6 months ago. much nicer to use:). as others have said prep is key:wink: .
