I took off all the high gloss paint from my house by sanding it properly, then primed it twice with some Zinsser. Most of the house was painted properly with exterior paint, but the other color we have got messed up, because the girl at the paint store decided to give me interior paint instead of exterior..
It's not a ton of paint, maybe half a gallon, but it took a long time to do because of all the nooks and crannies. Obviously the paint may start chipping away in the next year or so, but what should I do in the interim?
The best thing would probably be to paint over it with exterior paint, but can I just wait until it starts peeling, then go over it again?
It's interior semi-gloss paint (thank goodness it's not flat..), so it should hold up pretty well, but I know we're going to have to do it over soon. Just looking for advice on how to do it.
Thanks for the info. My neighbor recommended two coats and since I had extra primer I just went for it. Luckily we only did a half gallon before realizing what happened. It's actually sticking quite well even for interior paint, so the exterior should be phenomenal.
