Mold/Mildew on drywall surface
I just removed some solid vinyl WC from wall and we found mold/mildew stains on surface. We removed drywall and found mold inside. After killing/cleaning mold in wall is there a good product to maybe paint inside wall to inhibit this from happening again? Thanks.

The vinyl paper was holding in moisture causing mold growth. If you no longer have the paper, you should no longer have a problem

I agree with Chris. Just make sure you do not have a slow plumbing leak or pipe or duct condensation issue you need to address before sealing the wall back up again.

Problem is that a solid vinyl WC is going back up. Can we do anything as far as primers to stop it from happening again? Thanks.

Forgot to mention, no plumbing in that area but it is an outside wall underneath a window.

As far as I know, there is no primer that will prevent mildew. You are going to have to solve the moisture problem somehow.

Check the flashing for that window!
