Mold be gone

I'm doing a project where the roof of the house extends beyond the side walls so that when I look up on either side I see that these portions of roof are supported by 4x4's, 2x4's, and 3/4" plywood. The nails have been pounded through the surface I look up at.

The surrounding area has stones, sidewalk, grass, soil, and plants.

On one side I already used a 1:3 bleach:water mixture (spray bottle)and garden hose (rinse) to get rid of the blackish mold. Did not have an adverse effect on concrete driveway.

On this side I'm worried about the effects the spray would have on the rocks, soil, grass, plants etc...

Is there a solution for mold that will not adversly effect these other things? I don't want to bleach anything and change it's color and I believe I need something that's eco-friendly.

I've thought about putting dropcloths or plastic down and believe that these actions would not make much of a difference.

Use a product called Jomax... Pick it up at paint store or the Home Depot...

Read the directions... Mix Jomax/Bleach/Water to proper ratios...

You will not harm anything... but the mold!

I like to wet the landscape prior to application just to make sure...

I think it even says to do that on the label of the Jomax...

You will be fine...

I can second the Jomax suggestion

I also use bleach/water, and my fave X-14
But both need a little more care and discretion than the Jomax mix, which works pretty well but is a little more forgiving on non-treated surfaces and plants hit with overspray/spills

Greetings--

I've used the JoMax soultion on my house here. It works like a champ !! I applied it with a garden sprayer.

Wetting down the surface before applying is recommended, so I guess it helped.

I didnt notice any damage to shrubberies, but I did rinse them off to prevent possible problems.

I have found a Jomax information sheet on a site and will be reading it more thoroughly later.

From the posts I gather that it is the go-to for this application. I may try tracking a garden sprayer also for ease of application. Last time I used a spray bottle...took too long.
