mixing polyurethane sheens?
hello,
Has anybody ever tried to mix, say, a gallon of satin with a gallon of semi-gloss? I have some of each in a polyurethane made by Zinsser (Bullseye). They're interior and water based. Thanks. Jamie |
I'm a little confused. Z's bullseye is a primer.
Are you talking about clear finishes? Be more specific with what you have- but if they are from the same co , and you mix really well and mix frequently so that the flattening agents in the lower sheen stay mixed- you are probably fine. |

Thanks so much for the quick and helpful replies. Yep, it's a clear product from Zinsser called "Ultimate Polyurethane". I'll tackle it tomorrow!

oh, while I'm here, will I be to put an additional coat of a different (brand) water-based polyurethane on top of these "custom" Zinsser coats?
|
Mixing brands of a similar product will usually work. However, if anything were to go wrong, both manufacturers will diown the project. Why don't you call Zinsser's help line and ask them?
