metal paint on sheet rock

I bought a can of paint for use on metal only. It can be used inside. I started painting sheet rock in bedroom without realizing this. Will this cause any problems with the sheet rock or aanything else?

metal paint on sheet rock

Is it an oil based paint? Part of the environmental regulations require labels on regular oil trim enamels to be declared for metal use only. It's the same paint, different label. This may or may not be your case. But, either way I don't think you'll have any problem. It may be more protection than you need, but I don't think it will hurt anything. Your walls won't rust at least.

It is oil-based paint and the can did say for use on metal only. Thanks for your help. I am going to blame this one on my sons they picked it out.
