Messed up spraying one interior door

I sprayed and got a ton of drip marks, so I tried to wipe it up when it was wet and it looks wosre...I let the door dry and then it peeled and I pulled off half of the paint cuz it came off so easy.

now I got a door half painted and half stripped...the rest of the paint is sticking good, can't peel it.

So do I sand the edges of what is good - reprime- repaint?

Normally I'd say to feather and repaint but something must be different between the parts that stick and the ones that don't. Clean, scuff and prime in the first place?
"ton of drip marks" indicates to me the paint wasn't thinned properly.

Spraying isn't easy... even though is seems invitingly so..

What kind of door- metal or wood? new or old? did it have a finish on it? Was it a varnish or paint?

Any chance there's a picture available?

If not, at least say what you're spraying, spraying with; what is the door material and original finish; did you spray vertical or remove the door and lay flat?

Hey Hellothere,
There’s a ton of good questions here that need to be answered before a solution can be made. If the door was previously painted, then there is something on the surface that will not allow your coat to adhere. Wash and prime is a must. Also does the door have an embossed woodgrain look? If yes, sanding, priming and hoping for the best is the order of the day. If it is an embossed door, your best bet is to buy a new one rather than strip the injured one. Weigh the costs for both stripping and replacing. Sorry, but there are no magical solutions here. Sometimes you need to take your lumps and move on.
