making a good straight cut or paint line
i have textured walls and ceiling's I would like to get a good straight line when I paint.for example the wall is dark blue and the ceiling is white.what are the steps to get that nice straight line when you like at the top of the wall.tape will not do it by itself on textured walls

You can you have your line 1/8 inch or so down from the ceiling. When you do the ceiling paint just make sure you come down the wall enough so the old color doesn't show through.

Take a 5 in 1 tool make a light score line at the ceiling/wall corner. Then use the groove to cut in..................Good Luck..............

I use a good quality angled 2" brush to cut in around ceilings. Load it up with just enough paint to cover the first 1/4" to 1/2" of the end of the brush. Then apply the paint with the end of the brush rather than the side. The bristles will feather out toward the ceiling and you'll have a nice sharp line. It takes a bit of practice, but ends up being faster than taping once you get good at it. If you get some on the ceiling, go get a small container of ceiling paint and use a *really* small brush to touch up.
