making crimson red paint cover


I don't think BM's acrylic tints are used by anyone else- as far as i know all other paints are still using Universal (glycol) tints. That will change, but a single tint machine BM uses cost the store about $100,000 i've heard, so it is not a quick or cheap change.

This is off topic- but I orginally thought your post said "crimson and clover"....anyone remember that song back in the day by joan jett and the black hearts? ok, I'll shut up now.

True on all counts. My supplier was hesitant to jump right in and make the change when Aura first came out and the new machines were required.

What I meant was the system Ben Moore developed for mixing colorants was theirs first. Others followed. They may still own the patents for all I know.
