Was that a color name or something? Why not borrow a fan deck from a paint store and find a color you like that is gold to match your project? You might also try the virtual painting programs at the Ben Moore and Sherwin Williams sites to find a hue you like.

Know if you are talking about gold colored metallic flakes suspended in gum arabic that is a different matter. You would be better off with an acrylic metallic paint product from the paint store or an art store if you only need a small amount. Depending on what you are trying to paint, you may want to think about a gold leaf.

That is the paint color. I have been to every paint supplier I can find. DIY should not announce a color on their program without giving a supplier name. Also not having paint cans painted black. My wife will not be happy unles I find that color or the suppliers name.
Thanks for your response.

Try writing to the show and inquiring about the color.

You might try www.easyrgb.com. I tried a few of the majors for you and had no luck though.

Your sure it would be easier to go to a paint store and get swatches. The odds of your wife liking the color she saw on tv in your home are slim at best.

Most times they do like the food channel does and block out the names of the suppliers. Many times this means you see blank or black labels. You would think they would do like many shows do and get paid for product placement!

I agree with sdsester, and Ben I guess. This is a fool's errand. The color that was seen on the TV screen was the color as it represented in that room and lighting, rendered by the camera's interpretation of it, influenced by any later editing software or processes, and finally shown to you through a monitor which interpreted that color in it's own way. The actual color that she saw could be quite different in reality. I would take her to a paint store to look at the their color display and start from scratch. Even then the color may be slightly different on the chip in the store than it looks on your wall. It wouldn't even be hard to believe that an experienced long term color mixer/matcher might even know whose color that is. I've thrown color names at them before and was surprised to find they knew them, but I'm fortunate to have a BM dealer that I'm sure is a rarity as far as the staff goes. http://www.shinnpaint.com/
