Large pieces of paint chipping off
I have large pieces of paint chipping off the woodwork on a number of doors and woodwork. I just bought the house but it is 80 years old I need to stop the chipping short of removing ALL the old paint.I don't know if it is a siduation of oil over latex or visa versa. it is only in a couple of places no on each and every piece of woodwork. please sent me any suggestions you may have. mastrohome@yahoo.com thankyou

Large pieces of paint chipping off
Sounds like they did not use an oil base paint on the wood work.
