Lacquer paint on window casings

Would spay primer prior to spraying a lacquer paint on them? Casings are previously stained.

Lacquer paint on window casings

If you have to ask this, I have a feeling you have no experience with spraying or even painting in general.

Tell us what you have, what paints and what equipment. And what your prep procedure is.

And you might post your basic geographic location. I am wondering if you might happen to be across the pond from most of us?
