Knots on baseboards showing through the paint

I have pine baseboards and the knots keep showing up.

I painted over them with killz primer, then again with regular paint, but the 6 months later, the knots started to show through again.

What is the best way to keep those from coming through?

Shellac might help if you can get back to bare wood.

I painted white over cedar with prevalent knots. I used 1 coat primer and 3 coats of paint to get all the knots to disappear but they have not reappeared. I used Ben Moore paint. If you used Behr, maybe that's the difference.

Thats probably it, the stuff I used was from walmart, I'll go to an actually paint store this time.

You should still prime with a shellac primer first over the knots.

A real paint store will tell you exactly what you need. With paint, I always spend a little extra on quality and no matter what I'm painting, I always consult with the sales people first.

You don't have to remove paint to seal knots with Bin. Just hit knots with Bin or any shellac and it will hold back bleed. Good luck.
