Question

Kitchen - Old Gloss Pain

Hi all:

I'm new to this forum.

Question: I have gloss paint in my kitchen and I want to re-paint it. There's some pain peeling off in one corner of the ceiling (old paint).

1. Do I sand the entire ceiling and walls first?
2. Do I need to prime or just pain after cleaning off the sanded walls? (The original paint is semi-white gloss).

I would appreciate your advise.

Thanks!
