Kitchen & Bathroom by mistake
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me.
I stupidly used the wrong paint. I have a kitchen & bathroom mix which I used and a plain Matt in the same colour that I have been using.
I touched up some spots in my spare bedroom, mainly cutting in, and used the kitchen & bathroom instead of the matt paint. It's the same colour but it has a slight sheen to it so looks like I have gone over with a semi gloss.
Ive tried going straight over it with the matt paint and also tried sanding it back and then going over it but I can still see the difference.
Is there a way I can fix this?
Touch ups in any sheen are hard, and how the light hits it magnifys it.
The best way is to use the same type of applicator ( use a mini roller if it is a rolled area, and use the same thickness of nap if you can.) that you are going to match. feather it out so it is not an abrupt stop.
If you already used a brush with the higher sheen- you have already made a smoother part.
If it is really bothersome the best thing to do is actually to repaint the whole wall. We pros do this to solve a patch all the time.
Thanks for the reply! It's on a rolled wall but the parts I did in the wron paint were all with a brush as it was touching up the cutting in.
I will try to blend it in and see how it looks otherwise when you say reprint the whole wall I'm guessing you mean with the glossier paint?
Repaint it with what the wall was .
