I'm in the middle of a renovation. In help this along my father primed my walls with this crap. I have some areas that I need to be redone, pointed, skim coated.
Do I need to go over the entire wall with primer I repair?
Do I need to use that same primer?
I have an area that I used kilz2 next to this kilz premier and you can tell the difference, I'm scared the light paint color we are going to use, will finish differently?
Anything else I should do prior to paint?
Kilz would not be my choice but you should be OK. I would at least go over any new skimming you did and depending on the paint and sheen maybe the whole wall. If you are using flat then 2 full coats will do.
The main thing is to have the patched areas sealed, so that the finish coat will absorb consistently across the whole wall.
Walls can have an orange peel texture from previous coats, but patched and sanded areas are much smoother, so sealing with primer will encourage uniform texture.
