Just wanted to update you guys about the progress.
I gave the job to the contractor who bid $3200( I had wallpaper removed by some other . He was supposed to start the job before Xmas but didnt show up until after New Years. did a little bit of caulking and then disappeared again for a couple of weeks...returned and did some skim coating ...and then disappeared again...
Finally I gave up and found a new guy who is to start tomorrow.
wallpaper removal turned out mostly smooth but ofcourse time-consuming... it turns out that i have horse hair plaster under the wallpaper.. first floor has mostly dry wall except the hallway which again has horsehair plaster. the previous painter skim coated (x2) most of the walls ..but the walls arent fully smooth yet. I ended up replacing the plaster of some of the rooms with sheetrock as the cielings were in terrible shape
As we have gone through this before, which primer should he use now that we know that the walls have horse hair plaster and have been skim coated.
the new painter asked me to supply my own material so I will go with the best of BM. can someone give me an idea how much top of the line BM gallon would be.
