inexpensive deck stain ?

my front steps/small deck is kinda old, idk its age. it looks to not have been sealed in quite some time. i will like to put something on it to make it last a few more years. it probably would anyway, but i would like to help it out. but i don't want to spend $$$ on this. thanx

Even a good stain is only going to last about 2 years or less in a traffic area.
Go cheap on a deck sealer and you may as well use water.
Cabots, Sherwin Williams Deck Scape's, Olympic, Flood all make good mid priced stains.
I'd pass on the Behr, or Thompsons.

If you're really looking for something cheap, check the mistints at your local paintstore. SW usually has a few gallons of mistinted stain for about $7 - $10 per gallon.
